Harriet & Tom's Mid-Summer Gascony Wedding
On a beautiful Friday in August, Harriet and Tom said their ‘I dos’ in front of just under 100 of their closest friends and family in beautiful Gascony, France, at charming Chateau la Vie en Rose.
50 minutes west of Toulouse, the chateau is situated in a region famed for its Armagnac and fields of sunflowers.
Paris-based documentary photographer, Annie Gozard, captured the day perfectly, discretely shooting guests, resulting in a lovely, natural photo album.
The ceremony was beautifully designed by Love, Coralberry, with florist Le Coeur Sauvage creating a fabulous pomander, which was suspended from the beams of the chateau’s open air pigeonnier.
On to the reception and guests took shelter from the 40°C heat of the August sun by adorning themselves with Love, Coralberry’s beautiful lace parasols and dipping their feet in the pool.
Dinner was held in the chateau’s barn, which Love, Coralberry and Le Coeur Sauvage stylishly decorated together. A glorious floral runner tumbled off the entire length of the side wall, adding warmth to the otherwise predominantly white palette. Love, Coralberry’s hand-made stone coloured runners with matching napkins suited the chunky wooden tables perfectly, especially when teamed up with a mix of lanterns and bare pillar candles, interspersed with Le Coeur sauvage’s florals in old apothecary bottles.
After dinner, the party resumed outdoors and, after cutting the 5-tier stacked cheese tower, the couple and their guests danced under the star-filled Gascon sky well into the night.
